Auburn University at Montgomery Athletics

Men's cross country runner Basil Koech earned Warhawk of the Week honors after a stellar performance at the 2023 Gulf South Conference Championships. The Kericho, Kenya native clocked a 24:54.20 8K, which is the third-fastest time in school history, and also raced his way to GSC Freshman of the Year honors. Koech earned Second Team All-GSC honors and finished 15th overall. Koech earned the distinction of becoming the first runner in program history to be named Freshman of the Year. Koech now owns the first, third, fourth, and ninth fastest 8K times in school history.
