TAMPA, Fla. ----- The Auburn Montgomery men's soccer team fell on the road to No. 23 University of Tampa 6-1 Saturday night.
NOTES
• AUM fell to 2-10 on the year, while Tampa improved 8-2-2.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Freshman
Simon Van Rheeden tallied his fourth goal of the match late in the game, and was assisted by senior
Alan Harwell.
• Sophomore
Nick Davis also registered four shots during the match with three being on frame.
• Harwell added four shots, and junior
Christian Young picked up two.
• Bay Downing led the way for the Spartans with five goals scored during the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Tampa took an early lead five minutes into the match as Downing tallied his first goal on an assist from Winship.
• Mompremier scored in the 11
th minute, and Downing picked up three additional goals in the first half, as the Spartans led 5-0 at the half.
• Downing tallied his final goal of the match for the Spartans in the 79
th minute on an assist from Dusabe.
• Van Rheeden broke the shutout in the 84
th minute with an assist from Harwell. Tampa held the lead to take the victory 6-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM finished the match with 12 shots, and put five on frame.
• Tampa also finished the match with 12 shots, and put seven on frame.
• AUM tallied six corner kicks in the match. Tampa finished the match with five.
• Tampa's goalies tallied four saves during the match, while AUM's keepers totaled one.
