DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ----- The Auburn Montgomery men's soccer team fell to Spring Hill in the final twenty minutes of the match Saturday afternoon to end the 2016 season.
NOTES
• AUM finished 4-15 on the year, while Spring Hill finished to 3-13-1.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Freshman
Simon Van Rheeden tallied his sixth goal of the season, and his second of the Embry-Riddle Postseason Classic.
• Senior
Alan Harwell also scored his sixth goal of the season in his final game wearing the orange and black.
• Senior
Grant Dukes led the Warhawks with three total shots during the match in his final contest as well, and put one of the shots on frame.
• Jordan Simon, Nicholas Hanson and Viktor Kvarnlof each tallied a goal for the Badgers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Spring Hill scored first in the 18
th minute on a goal from Hanson that was assisted by Schober.
• AUM nearly tied the game on shots from Bozesan and Dukes, but Harwell leveled the score for the Warhawks in the 43
rd minute on a cross inside the 18 from Bozesan for a 1-1 scoreline heading into the half.
• AUM took the lead in the 67
th minute on a shot from the top of the 18 off the foot of Van Rheeden that found the back of the net to put the Warhawks up 2-1.
• Just over a minute later, Spring Hill tied the game at two on a goal from Kvarnlof that was assisted by Simon.
• Spring Hill regained the lead in the 82
nd minute after a save from Ingram deflected to the feet of Simon who put the Badgers ahead 3-2. The Warhawks were unable to score despite having six corner kicks in the final five minutes to end the season with a 3-2 defeat against Spring Hill.
