MONTGOMERY, Ala. ----- The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer team defeated Birmingham-Southern College 3-0 Sunday afternoon.
NOTES
• AUM improved to 4-3-1, while Birmingham-Southern fell to 4-6. Â

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Making her first career start, sophomore
Felicia Wester saved three Panther shots on goal en route to her first career clean sheet.
• Mendez continued the hot start to her freshman campaign when she put a shot in the upper left corner of the goal for Auburn Montgomery's first goal.
• Sophomore
Bronte Cintrone and junior
Megan Kowalski each earned their first assists of the season.
• Corbin and Reid each had their only shots on goal in the match hit the back of the net.
• Senior
Courtney Omodei added three shots including one on goal for AUM.
• Ansley Tomlin recorded four saves for Birmingham-Southern and Megan Moser posted two shots on goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• In the 29
th minute, Mendez put in the go-ahead goal for AUM that turned out to be game-deciding.
• Neither team was able to score in the remainder of the first half, but AUM amassed seven shots and made the Panther goalie make two saves in the half.
• Still leading 1-0, in the 61
st minute, Cintrone played a long pass into the box that was finished by Corbin to give the Warhawks an insurance goal.
• AUM added its final goal of the match in the 80
th minute as Reid finished off an assist in the box by Kowalski
• Wester collected one save in the second half as Auburn Montgomery defeated Birmingham-Southern 3-0. Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM finished the match with 18 shots, and put seven on frame. Birmingham-Southern ended the game with five shots, and put three on frame.
• AUM led Birmingham-Southern in corner kicks by collecting seven and held the Panthers without a corner kick for the match. Â
• Birmingham-Southern picked up four saves in the match, while AUM added three.
