Warhawks Suffer Setback At West Florida, 6-0

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Auburn Montgomery men's soccer team suffered a setback on the road on Thursday evening, falling to West Florida, 6-0, in Gulf South Conference play at the UWF Soccer Complex.
 
NOTES
• AUM falls to 1-16 on the season, with a 1-9 mark in the GSC.
• UWF improves to 7-6-1 overall, and 5-4-1 in league play.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• AUM's Tiuri Schieving tallied two shots, including one shot on goal.
• UWF's Pete Love came off the bench to score a pair of goals.
• Sergio Otalora and Erick Rivera each had a goal and an assist for the Argonauts.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Rivera broke the scoreless tie in the 10th minute when he took a cross from Tristan Rehrig near the end line and converted from five yards out.
• Rehrig got on the board himself in the 26th minute of the contest, taking a pass from Rivera and beating the keeper in a 1-on-1 with a strike to the lower left corner of the net.
• Sergio Otalora put UWF up 3-0 in the 40th minute when he got a through ball from Ed Chappe and converted the opportunity for his team-leading fourth goal of the season.
• Love got the first of his two goals a minute later, converting on a penalty kick awarded to the Argos.
• AUM trailed 4-0 heading into halftime.
• Teague Coleman got his first goal of the season in the 54th minute, scoring on a header off of a free kick by Kameron Bethell.
• Love picked up his second goal of the night in the 82nd minute, taking a pass from Otalora to give the Argonauts a 6-0 lead.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
• UWF out-shot AUM 21-7 in the contest.
• AUM tallied nine saves between Justin Presor and Stephen Ingram.
 
UP NEXT
The Warhawks will travel to Mobile, Ala., on Saturday to take on Spring Hill College in the final match of the 2017 season for AUM. Game time is set for 1 p.m. on the campus of the Badgers.
