Women’s Soccer Falls At Union, 2-0

JACKSON, Tenn. -- The Auburn Montgomery Warhawks concluded their two-game weekend road trip through Tennessee with a 2-0 loss to Gulf South Conference foe Union on Sunday afternoon in women's soccer action.  


NOTES
• AUM falls to 4-6 on the year and 3-4 in the GSC, while Union improves to 3-7 overall and 3-6 in league play.
Felicia Wester recorded seven saves during the match.
• Union's Addison Dunn and Krista Erlandson netted both of the Bulldogs goals in the 21st and 45th minute.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Addison Dunn recorded her first goal of the year on a breakaway goal in the 21st minute of the match.
• Union's Kristen Francis recorded three saves in her shutout victory
• AUM netminder Felecia Wester stopped seven Bulldog shots on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Warhawks and Bulldogs split possession time for the first 15 minutes of the first half which saw back and forth action for both teams.  
• Union broke through in the 21st minute when Addison Dunn capitalized on a breakaway shot that beat the Warhawk keeper to her left to put the Bulldogs up 1-0
• The Bulldogs found another goal right before the half when Union forward Krista Erlandson chipped the keeper to put Union up 2-0 at halftime.
• Union outshot AUM 11-6 in the first half.  
• The second half saw back and forth action with no side being able to gain any ground in the opponents third of the pitch.  
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM finished the match with 13 shots, and 3 were put on target. Union finished the game with 18 shots with 9 on frame.
• Union led AUM in corner kicks 5-0.  
• The Bulldogs recorded three saves while the Warhawks picked up seven.

STAT OF THE GAME
Agnes Edlund led the Warhawks in shots for the second straight game, she tallied seven shots over the weekend.  

UP NEXT
• The Warhawks will conclude their three-game road trip on Wednesday October 11 when they will travel to Valdosta, Georgia to take on GSC foe Valdosta State University.
