MONTGOMERY, Ala. ----- The Auburn Montgomery Department of Athletics announced the addition of Eli Sirota as Assistant Sports Information Director Thursday.

Sirota spent the last year as the Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations at the University of New Orleans, a Division I member of the Southland Conference.

"Eli brings a great balance of the traditional and new-age skills that will allow us to better promote AUM and our student-athletes," AUM Sports Information Director Tim Lutz said. "He showed a passion for telling the story of our programs and is eager to learn new skills. Our committee felt Eli was a great fit for AUM and I am excited about his addition to our staff."

While at UNO, Sirota was responsible for the statistics, reporting and publicity of the Privateers' volleyball, baseball and tennis programs. He assisted with the maintenance of the department website and with radio broadcasts for various sports. He provided additional coverage through social media, creating pre- and postgame graphics, as well as schedule posters for the programs. He also volunteered with the Allstate Sugar Bowl during the time.

Prior to his arrival at New Orleans, Sirota spent one year working as an Athletic Media Relations Assistant at Brevard College in Brevard, N.C. While with the Tornados, he was the primary sports information contact for the soccer, cross country, lacrosse, tennis, track and field, and women's basketball teams. He hosted the Coaches' Corner, a weekly radio show featuring coaches from across the department, and also served as the official statistician at the 2016 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship and 2016 Big South Women's Basketball Tournament.

Sirota graduated from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., with a degree in sports management in 2014. During his tenure at Lynn, he served as a student assistant for the Knights' sports information department. He was involved in a variety of game day roles, while also serving as the cross country and volleyball contact during his senior year. He managed the "Knightly Review" weekly video recap, as well as produced postgame videos.

In addition to his on-campus experience, Sirota has completed summer internships with the Florida Launch of the Major League Lacrosse league, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (AAA affiliate of the New York Yankees) and with the Florida Atlantic Athletics Media Relations office.

"I am excited, and honored, to join the Auburn Montgomery family," Sirota said. "I would like to thank Director of Athletics Jessie Rosa and Sports Information Director Tim Lutz for the opportunity and I look forward to helping promote the success of AUM athletics and its student-athletes."
