WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. ----- The Auburn Montgomery men's soccer team stayed within striking distance of the No. 10 Lynn University Fighting Knights Friday, but four second-half goals proved to be too much to overcome in a 5-0 season-opening loss in the Palm Beach Atlantic Kickoff Classic.

• The Warhawks fell to 0-1 on the year, while the Knights improved to 1-0 on the year.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Sophomore defender
Vilhjalmur Runarsson collected the lone shot of the match for the Warhawks.
• Senior
Stephen Ingram stopped four shots in 90 minutes between the pipes.
• Jack Watson, Alun Webb, Elliot Legg, Tomer Bitton and Callum Porteous scored goals for Lynn. Webb led the team with eight shots.
• Alexander Roth tallied a clean sheet in goal for the Fighting Knights.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Fighting Knights took a 1-0 advantage just 10:43 into the match, when Watson beat Ingram on a one-on-one attempt.
• The Warhawks had their only opportunity of the match just before halftime, when Runarsson attempted a shot in the box, but it was blocked the Knights' defense.
• AUM held Lynn scoreless for the remainder of the first half and into the second, before a Webb finish upped the advantage to 2-0 at the 65:18 mark of the match.
• The Knights put the match out of reach with three goals in a 7:44 span late in the second half to provide the final margin.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The Fighting Knights outshot the Warhawks 23-1 in the match, including 10-0 on goal.
• Lynn attempted 10 corner kicks in the contest, while AUM did not have an attempt.
