HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer team dropped a 4-2 Gulf South Conference decision at Alabama-Huntsville on Sunday, Oct. 7, despite outshooting the Chargers 16-13 in the match.
With the loss, AUM's record sits at 2-8 overall and 2-6 in GSC play.

Ruby Mendez was responsible for both of the Warhawk's goals on the day, with both coming in the unassisted variety. With her two-goal performance, Mendez upped her 2018 season goal tally to a GSC-best 12.

Mayson Jaindl took a team-high six shots on the afternoon, marking for her second-highest single-game shot total of the season.

Fabiana Alborghetti notched three shots, with two on frame, while
Melissa Fernandez also accounted for a shot on goal in the contest.
How it Happened
- Mendez put the Warhawks on top 1-0 in the 7th minute of the match, with a left-footed strike from outside the box that found the upper left corner of the net.
- UAH delivered the equalizing goal in the 22nd minute via a penalty kick, and would go on to add two more goals to take a 3-1 lead into halftime.
- Mendez's second goal of the game came in the 67th minute, and brought the Warhawks within one goal of the Chargers at 3-2.
- The Chargers added the game's final goal in the 76th minute.
