ALBANY, Ga.– The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer team closed out their 2018 campaign on Friday, Nov. 2 with a 4-1 road win against the Golden Rams of Albany State. 
 
Notes
- With the win, the Warhawks finish the 2018 season at 5-12 overall.
- The win marked for AUM's second in a row, and their third in their last four matches. 
- The Warhawks amassed their second-highest goal total of the season, scoring four in the win.
 
Standout Performers
- 
Ruby Mendez led the AUM attack with two goals scored and an assist. Mendez unofficially finishes the 2018 season with a GSC-best 19 goals scored and 44 points accumulated. Mendez's 19 single-season goals tie for seventh all-time in program history.
- 
Mayson Jaindl tallied her eighth goal of the season, in addition to accounting for an assist. 
- 
Tonie Sledz also scored a goal for AUM in the match, which marked for her first collegiate score.
 
How it Happened
- The Golden Rams jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 7th minute, before AUM would retaliate in the 13th minute courtesy of Jandl's goal.
- The 1-1 score would hold all the way to the 51st minute, when Sledz would slot her first collegiate goal on a ball shot in from the left side. 
- The Warhawks would take the lead less than a minute later, when Mendez knocked in her first of two scores on the day. Jaindl's pass into the box helped set up the goal.
- Mendez would deliver the match's final goal in the 74th minute, giving way to the final score of 4-1.
 
Inside the Boxscore
- AUM outshot Albany State 21-11 on the afternoon, with seven shots on goal. 
- The Warhawks took nine shots in the first period, and 12 in the second. 
- AUM took eight corner kicks in the contest, while holding Albany State to just two.
- In goal, 
Dejon Fletcher picked up four saves in just over 82 minutes of action, while 
Felicia Wester recorded a save in the remaining minutes of the match in relief of Fletcher.
