ABOUT THE WARHAWKS
AUM (6-3-2, 3-0-2 GSC) will look to keep an eight-match unbeaten streak alive on Friday. The Warhawk's 11 conference points currently finds them in third place in the Gulf South Conference standings, behind only Mississippi College (5-0-1, 16 points) and West Florida (4-1-1, 13 points).
In their most recent work, the Warhawks played to a pair of 1-1 home draws with UAH on Friday, Oct. 11 and West Alabama on Sunday, Oct. 13 in GSC play.
The Warhawks came in at number six in the most recent south regional rankings compiled by the United Soccer Coaches on Monday, Oct. 14, the second-highest south regional ranking that the Orange and Black have garnered since reaching NCAA Division II status.
AUM has netted 17 goals in 11 matches, a mark that ranks for fourth in the GSC and averages outs to 1.55 goals scored per game. The Warhawks currently rank third in the conference in total assists (14), fourth in shots taken (144) and lead all Gulf South schools with 66 corner kicks.
Both
Thomas Carlile and
Renan Diniz lead the Warhawks with four goals scored, while
Arnaud Baron and Carlile pace AUM with four assists apiece. Diniz leads all GSC players with three game-winning goals on the year, while Baron and Carlile rank tied for third in the conference in total assists.
On defense, the Warhawks are averaging just one goal allowed on the year, and have allowed just three goals over five conference matches so far.
Goalkeeper
Alexander Kraus (6-1-2) currently ranks second in the GSC in both goals against average (0.73) and save percentage (0.83), while ranking in the top five in total saves (33).
The Warhawks currently hold an all-time record of 7-7 against Montevallo, a series that dates all the way back to the 1994 season.
ABOUT THE FALCONS
Montevallo (5-5-1, 3-2 GSC) heads into their meeting with AUM having won two of their last three GSC matchups. The Falcons fall 1-0 to UAH at home on Sunday, Oct. 13 in their most recent contest.
Vladik Margolin and Nemanja Acimovic both lead a Montevallo attack averaging 1.27 goals per game with three goals scored each. Ruben Carvalho leads the Falcons with three assists distributed on the year.
On defense, the Falcons have surrendered 14 goals through 11 matches, for a mark of 1.27 per contest. Goalkeeper Robert Kuta (5-5-1) has seen all 1,014 minutes in net for Montevallo, while having posted four shutouts and a save percentage of 74 percent.
