MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Auburn Montgomery men's soccer team will take to the road this weekend, for a pair of crucial Gulf South Conference matches at Mississippi College on Friday, Nov. 1 and at Delta State on Sunday, Nov. 3.

ABOUT THE WARHAWKS
AUM (7-4-3, 4-1-3 GSC) heads into the weekend sitting in fourth place in the GSC standings with 15 overall points. The Warhawks sit just two points behind Mississippi College and West Florida in first place (17 points) and one point off of Christian Brothers in third place (16 points).
Their last time out, the Warhawks battled Lee University to a 0-0 draw in a defensive stalemate from the AUM Soccer Complex on Monday, Oct. 28.
The Orange and Black checked in at number seven in the most recent south regional rankings compiled by the United Soccer Coaches on Monday, Oct. 28. In the first edition of the NCAA D-II Super Region Rankings, a poll featuring both the south and southeast regions, the Warhawks came in at number 11.
The Warhawks are currently averaging 1.29 goals scored per contest, while ranking fifth in the conference with 186 shots taken in 2019. AUM also ranks second in the Gulf South with 77 corner kicks taken on the season.
Thomas Carlile and
Renan Diniz both lead the Warhawk attack with four goals scored. Carlile and
Arnaud Baron lead AUM with four assists, while
Renan Diniz leads the Gulf South with three game-winning scores.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Warhawks are allowing just one goal a game from their opponents, a mark that ranks for fourth in the GSC. AUM has allowed just six goals in conference play, the third best total in the GSC.
Sophomore keeper
Alexander Kraus (7-2-3) ranks third in the conference with a 0.78 goals against average, and a 0.68 GAA against conference foes. Kraus ranks tied for third in in the GSC with 29 saves in conference games, while having notched five shutouts on the year.
The Warhawks bring a 1-1-1 record with Mississippi College and a 1-2 record with Delta State into this weekend's action. AUM logged their lone win in their series with MC in Clinton, Miss. on Sept. 9 of the 2016 season, while the Warhawks won 2-1 against Delta State in double overtime on Oct. 19 of last season.
ABOUT THE CHOCTAWS
Mississippi College (6-1-4, 5-0-2) currently sits atop the GSC standings with West Florida. Their last time out, the Choctaws played to a 1-1 draw with Delta State on Thursday, Oct. 24.
MC came in one spot ahead of AUM in the most recent editions of both the NCAA D-II Super Region 2 rankings (10) and in the United Soccer Coaches South Regional Rankings (6).
The Choctaw offense ranks fourth in the Gulf South in goals per game (1.73), total shots (188) and shots on goal per game (6.36). Marco Sellan leads MC with four goals scored, while Owen Connelly and Isaac Gonzalez rank second on the team with three goals each and Antoine Recizac leads the Choctaws with three assists.
MC has allowed the fewest goals of all GSC teams this year, having given up just six on the season and four in conference play. Choctaw keeper Alejandro Chavarria leads the conference with a 0.50 goals against average, 51 saves, six shutouts and an 89-percent save efficiency.
ABOUT THE STATESMEN
Delta State (5-6-2, 0-5-2 GSC) heads into the weekend coming off a 1-1 tie at Mississippi College their last time out on Thursday, Oct. 24.
The Statesmen currently lead all GSC teams with a 2.54 goals-per-game average, and sit second in the conference with 33 goals scored on the year. Odin Johansson leads Delta State, and sits second in the GSC, with nine goals scored, while Tom Bar-Yosef and Bruno Osorio lead DSU with four assists each.
The Statesmen have allowed 22 goals through 13 games, for a mark of 1.69 per contest. Mattis Kloepper (4-4-1) has seen the majority of playing time in goal for Delta State, while posting a 1.41 GAA and two shutouts.
Prior to their matchup with AUM, the Statesmen will host Montevallo on Friday, Nov. 1 at 3:00 p.m.
