JACKSON, Miss. --- The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer team suffered a 7-0 loss at the hands of the number-five ranked Lady Choctaws of Mississippi College in Gulf South Conference play on Friday, Nov. 1.
Wet conditions at Longabaugh Field on the campus of Mississippi College forced the game to be played at Belhaven Bowl Stadium on the campus of Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss.
With the loss, AUM's record now sits at 1-13-1 overall, and 1-8-1 in GSC action.
The Lady Choctaws were able to log their first two goals of the match within the first 25 minutes of play. MC cracked the board with their first goal in the 13th minute, followed by a goal in the 23rd to double their lead to 2-0.
MC would grab another goal at the 41st minute, to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
The Lady Choctaws punched in goal number four right out of the half, with a 47th minute score to make it 4-0, followed by a pair of goals in the 61st and 62nd minutes.
MC would get their final goal with 25 seconds left, to claim the 7-0 win.
Dejon Fletcher played the first 50 minutes in goal for the Warhawks, notching four saves along the way.
Chloe Kistler played the final 40 minutes between the posts for the Orange and Black.
The Warhawks will cap off their Magnolia-state GSC road road trip with a 1:00 p.m. matchup at Delta State on Sunday, Nov. 3.
