CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Auburn University at Montgomery softball team used three home runs to down Gulf South Conference foe Delta State 8-2 on the road in the first game of a three-game series.
NOTES
- The Warhawks have won three in a row and now sit at 13-5 overall.
- The Orange & Black bring their conference record to 6-4 in 2020.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After stranding the bases loaded in the first inning, the Warhawk catcher Krueger came up to the plate with
Hannah Dailey at first base and launched a ball over the right field wall to give AUM a 2-0 lead.

Alanna Goble was locked in during the middle innings of the series opener against the Lady Statesmen, recording five strikeouts in six outs recorded to begin action in Mississippi.
- The score remained at 2-0 until the top of the sixth when Walker came up to the plate and deposited a ball over the left centerfield wall to give the Warhawks an important 3-0 lead late in the game.
- Walker's home run loomed larger in the bottom half of the inning as Delta State's Taylor Picou hit a two-run shot to bring Delta State back to within a run.
- The tallest second basemen in the GSC earned herself the title of the Grand Slam Champ in the seventh inning after destroying a ball over the left field wall to score four runs and give the Warhawks a 7-2 lead.
- The scoring stopped later that inning when
Olivia Aycock doubled home Dailey to give AUM the eight runs they needed to win game one of the series.
