Women’s Soccer Drops Season Finale to Montevallo, 2-1

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery Women's Soccer Team closed out its 2021 season with a 2-1 Gulf South Conference loss to the Montevallo Falcons on Thursday, Nov. 4.
 
The loss brings AUM's 2021 record to 6-10 overall and 4-9 in GSC action.
 
Montevallo tallied the first of two goals in minute number 14 of the match, giving them a 1-0 lead that would hold all the way to halftime.
 
AUM cracked the board and delivered the equalizer in minute number 63, when Ariel Jones booted in her second goal of the season on the heels of Marijn Kissen free kick.
 
The Falcons knocked in the game-winner with just four minutes left in regulation, giving way to the 2-1 final score.
 
Montevallo outshot AUM on the night 21-9. McKenzie Nowin led AUM with three shots taken and two shots on goal.
 
In goal, Rebecca Jamieson (0-2-0) matched a career high with nine saves in 90 minutes between the posts.
