MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team suffered its second Gulf South Conference loss of the season after a 4-3 thrilling loss to Christian Brothers at home on Saturday morning.
The Warhawks even their 2021 record at 3-3 after the setback to the Lady Buccaneers, while Christian Brothers remain perfect after the win, bringing their mark to 9-0 on the season.
"We didn't play our best doubles today and lost an important point there," said head coach
Yair Banuelos. "We fought back in singles but came up short. We have to play with more determination in some spots in the next couple of matches."
The double's point came down to the first court as the two teams split on courts two and three. However, CBU was able to win 7-5 in the final game to take the doubles point. The single's competition came down to the final court, and it was the Lady Bucs who were able to
prevail in the third game in the six slot.
