MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The No. 23-ranked Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team was eliminated from the Gulf South Conference tournament on Friday morning, losing 4-0 to top-seeded West Alabama.
The Warhawks' tournament run ends after winning the first-round match against Valdosta State, then falling to West Alabama in the semifinals.
The Warhawks fought hard in the doubles competitions, as the two teams split the first two games in doubles, but the Tigers emerged victorious to take an early 1-0 lead over AUM.
Singles play was not favorable for AUM as West Alabama took the third, fourth, and sixth courts in singles action to win the match against the fourth-seeded Warhawks 4-0.
