Sunday's gritty contest featured 46 combined fouls, with AUM on the receiving end of 22 and Tampa tagged for 24. AUM took one corner kick and were whistled for six offside infractions while Tampa recorded five corners and drew four offside calls.
"Today was a very hard-fought game," Head Coach
Matthew Thorne said. "Our lads gave 100 percent. We pushed for an equalizer, but it wasn't to be. Tampa is a top college team and these tough games will only help prepare us for conference. "
The men's soccer team will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 10 when they take to the road for a 6:00 p.m. (CST) tilt at Clayton State.
