LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Auburn Montgomery softball team checked in at number 14 in the 2022 NFCA NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll announced on Tuesday, Jan. 25.
AUM was one of four Gulf South Conference schools to crack the top 25, joined by GSC brethren Valdosta State (7), West Florida (17), and UAH (23) in the rankings.
The 2021 GSC Champions posted a record of 40-7 last season while climbing as high as number three in the NFCA national rankings and finishing the year at number 21.
The 2022 NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches with two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. The poll will be released each Tuesday at noon ET with the first regular-season poll announced on Feb. 15.
The Warhawks were recently tabbed first in the GSC Preseason Coaches Poll announced on Jan. 20, with
Molly Cobb,
Alanna Goble,
Gia Martin, and
Allie Miller earning Preseason All-GSC honors.
The softball team will open up its 2022 campaign on Friday, Feb 4. with a pair of games on day one of the Gulf Shores Invitational in Gulf Shores, Ala. AUM will take on Delta State at 11:15 a.m. and Palm Beach Atlantic at 1:30 p.m.
