Women's Soccer Drops Midweek Matchup at No. 25 Mississippi College

CLINTON, Miss. -- The No. 25 Mississippi College Lady Choctaws used two second-half goals to set the tone for a 3-0 win over the Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team in a match that was resumed after inclement weather halted the Sept. 9th contest.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The 21st minute saw the Lady Choctaws' Emma Young score the first goal of the contest.
  • AUM's Rebecca Jamieson then added a point-blank save in the 28th minute in a one-on-one opportunity.
  • Mississippi College scored the second goal of the game in the 30th minute.
  • Two minutes later, Rebecca Jamieson made a huge save.
  • Lady Choctaw Erin Hederman lined up at the penalty spot after AUM committed a foul in the box, but Jamieson was up to the task. 
  • The Warhawks goalkeeper dove left and made a punch save to keep the score 2-0 at halftime.
  • MC found a pair of second-half goals to salt the contest away.
  • The Hederman sisters accounted for all four assists in the game. Avery assisted the second and third goals of the game, while Erin assisted the first and fourth MC goals. 

UP NEXT

The Warhawks return home to host Senior Night on Friday, Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. against Shorter University.
