Hanson's Two Goals Help Warhawks Tame Tigers

LIVINGSTON, Ala. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery men's soccer team got a brace from Adam Hanson, including the game-winning goal in the 56th minute of action, and the Warhawks shut out the University of West Alabama in the second half to remain unbeaten on the season.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Almost 12 minutes into the match, the Tigers drew first blood.
  • Killian Griffin headed in a perfect pass from Shane Pettit to put the home team up first 1-0.
  • In the 29th minute, the Warhawks answered the bell.
  • Adam Hanson cleared a ball toward midfield and Luke Wilson won possession. Wilson carried the ball through the teeth of the Tiger defense and connected a backheel flick to Hanson, who beat the goalkeeper to the near post and tied the match 1-1.
  • The Warhawks struck first in the second half, as Hanson converted with his left foot in the 56th minute as the visitors stole a 2-1 advantage.
  • Hanson's second-half goal proved to be the game-winner, as AUM used a strong defensive effort late to clear away a handful of West Alabama attempts at a tying goal.

The Warhawks return home to the AUM Soccer Complex and play host to Spring Hill College for a 7:30 p.m. kick-off on Friday, October 6.
