MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The sixth-ranked Auburn University at Montgomery men's soccer team struggled to find momentum and suffered its first defeat in a hard-fought match against Christian Brothers University on Friday night in Gulf South Conference play.

HIGHLIGHTS

• In the match's 36th minute, the home-standing Bucs broke through with a goal to take a 1-0 lead.
• Christian Brothers out-shot AUM 6-4 in the first half as the home team held the advantage at the intermission.
• The Bucs continued to apply plenty of pressure after the break and capitalized again in the 49th minute to take a 2-0 lead.
• AUM was whistled for a foul that drew a penalty kick for the Bucs in the 67th minute, but Blake made the save and kept another goal off the board. 
• Christian Brothers packed it in late and a trio of chances int eh closing minutes fell off the table for the Warhawks.

• The Warhawks drew six corner kicks in the match but were unable to muster a set-piece goal.
• CBU bested AUM in the shots category 17-10 in the match.
• The match marked the first time this season AUM has allowed more than one goal in a match.
• Blake saved his second penalty kick of the season and made six saves total.

UP NEXT

The Warhawks return home to close out the regular season against Delta State University and Mississippi College. AUM and Delta State square off on Friday, Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. on Senior Night at the AUM Soccer Complex. The Warhawks then host Mississippi College in the regular-season finale on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 3:30 p.m.
