HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Warhawks had one of the match's first real chances to find the back of the net in a one-on-one opportunity, but the UWF goalkeeper scooped a ball off the grass to keep a shot off the board.
  • A barrage of shots by the Argos a half hour into the match put pressure on the AUM defense, but the Warhawks were up to the task.
  • Just before the halftime intermission, a kerfuffle in front of goal resulted in a West Florida 1-0 lead at the break.
  • The Warhawks got their best chance to tie the match in the 69th minute, as a Laia Gonzalez shot was saved by Lipsey to keep the home team off the scoreboard, and the Argos closed out the match.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Argonuats edged the Warhawks in shots (11-1) and shots on goal (6-1).
  • Karla Gaytan totaled five saves, while UWF goalkeeper Maciah Lipsey needed just one save to shutout AUM.
  • West Florida tallied 11 corner kicks in the match.
  • The one goal allowed by AUM is the fewest in the all-time series against the Argos.
FROM THE COACH'S BOX
  • "I felt like we were unlucky to get a point from today's match," said head coach Julianne Herrity. "The girls played solid defensively against a strong West Florida side. We are disappointed to lose on a soft goal, but we will take away the positives from today's match and get ready for another tough GSC home match next Friday."

UP NEXT
