Dahlonega, Ga. - The Auburn University at Montgomery softball team split a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon at No. 1 University of North Georgia at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium in a nonconference matchup. The Warhawks fell in game one 4-3 in nine innings and took the second game 4-3.

HIGHLIGHTS (GM 1)
- The Warhawks struck first in the fourth inning off a two RBI double from Molly Cobb to go up 2-0.
- The Nighthawks tied the game up in the top of the fifth off a single up the middle that scored a pair of runs.
- Neither team plated another run until the ninth inning when Faith Wheat singled and sent Chloe Derrick home to give AUM a 3-2 lead.
- North Georgia got two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning off two errors to give them the 4-3 victory.
IN THE CIRCLE (GM 1)
- Morgan Ferguson (L, 9-4) went eight full innings and gave up two earned runs on five hits. She struck four batters out.
HIGHLIGHTS (GM 2)
- Cobb delivered a RBI single to right centerfield that scored Chloe Baynes and the Warhawks took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
- AUM did not hold the lead for long as UNG found two RBI singles that gave them a 2-1 advantage in the bottom of the first frame.
- Derrick hit a rocket over the right field wall that brought Kat Fallen home in the fourth inning as the Warhawks retook the lead at 3-2.
- The Nighthawks evened the score at 4-4 in the bottom of the fourth inning off a RBI single.
- Cobb doubled to right field to start the sixth inning off. Shelby Edgeworth pinch ran and scored off a throwing by North Georgia to give AUM the game-winning run.
- The Nighthawks recorded one hit in the final two innings and could not score a run. The Warhawks took the 4-3 victory over first-ranked UNG.
IN THE CIRCLE (GM 2)
- Avery Dickerson (W, 10-3) earned the win after tossing the complete seven innings. She gave up three runs on nine hits. She struck five batters out and did not walk a batter.
NOTABLES
- Margaret Morgan made her first appearance this season in game two of the doubleheader and recorded one hit.
- Cobb is currently on a eight game hitting streak.
- Fallen has reached base in 11 consecutive games. Derrick extended her streak of reaching base to 10 games.
