THIS WEEK IN AUM ATHLETICS (JANUARY 29 - FEBRUARY 4)

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

  • AUM welcomes Mississippi College (Thursday, Feb. 1 at 5:30 p.m.) and Delta State (Saturday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m.) this week.
  • The Warhawks enter the week sitting fourth in the GSC standings and are riding a four-game win streak.
  • Allasha Dudley leads the Warhawks in scoring at 17.1 points per game, which ranks third in the GSC.
  • Brianna Sanchez tied her season-high with 13 rebounds against Shorter. She has five games this year with double-digit rebounds.
  • The 30 points allowed by AUM against Shorter marks the best defensive performance since a 60-30 win over Emmanuel University on January 30, 2010.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

  • AUM welcomes Mississippi College (Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m.) and Delta State (Saturday, Feb. 4 at 4 p.m.) this week.
  • 12 steals against Shorter marked the 12th time this season they tallied double-digit steals.
  • For the sixth time in the last eight games, AUM made double-digit three-point field goals as a team.
  • Anderson put up his second career 30-point game against the Hawks, finishing with 31 points and six assists on 11-of-19 shooting. Anderson went 7-of-12 from three-point territory.
  • 13 different Warhawks scored at least two points in the contest, and Jamarious Martin totaled the first two points of his collegiate career.

  • Tyrese Rooks, Ryan Slaten, and Brendan York were each named to the league's Newcomer Watchlist ahead of the 2024 season.
  • The Warhawks were picked to finish 11th in the preseason GSC Coaches Poll.

  • AUM men's and women's tennis gets the regular season underway as they travel to Macon, Ga. to take on Middle Georgia State University on Friday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m.
  • Both AUM teams enter the year under first-year head coach Michael O'Brien having made the NCAA Division II SOuth REgion tournament last spring.

  • The Warhawks return to the field in 2024 after a 34-19 campaign last season that saw AUM play in the NCAA Division II South Regional championship game.
  • AUM opens the 2024 season receiving votes in the NFCA Preseason Top 25 poll.
  • Molly Cobb, Chloe Derrick, and Kat Fallen were named Preseason All-GSC.
  • Chelisa Newsome and Bella Santos were also named to the Newcomer Watchlist.
