COLUMBUS, Ga. - The No. 17 Auburn University at Montgomery softball team split a midweek doubleheader across the state line at Columbus State University by final scores of 16-3 and 6-12 at Cougar Field in nonconference action.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Kat Fallen connected on a ball and sent it out of the yard as AUM took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. 
• AUM plated eight runs in the second frame highlighted by Gia Martin hitting a three-run homer and a solo shot from Margaret Morgan. 
• AUM scratched five runs in the third frame with Martin hitting her second homer of the day bringing in three extra runs. 
• CSU scored two runs in the fifth, but could not trim it down anymore as the Warhawks earned the victory in five innings. 

IN THE CIRCLE

• Brinkley Yevak (W, 3-0) hurled five innings and gave up three earned runs on six hits. She struck a pair of batters out and walked three.

HIGHLIGHTS

• The Cougars scored five runs in the first two innings off a three-run homer and a two-RBI double. 
• Fallen hit a single to center field to bring home Chloe Baynes in the third inning. The Cougars responded quickly with two more runs in the bottom half of the inning to make it 7-1. 
• AUM rallied in the fourth inning, scoring five runs with Haley Ann Frank hitting a single on the left field line and bringing home two runs. Molly Cobb hit a three-run home run over the left center field fence to make it a one run game. 
• Columbus State scored five runs in the final two innings to regain momentum and took the victory over AUM 12-6. 

IN THE CIRCLE

• Sydni Free (L, 2-2) absorbed the loss and gave up five earned runs on six hits with one being a unearned run. 
• Avery Dickerson came in relief and tossed the final 3.2 innings and gave up five earned runs on six hits with one being a unearned run. The duo struck three batters out, while Dickerson walked five.
