MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Auburn University at Montgomery head cross country coach Ryan Thompson has announced the 2024 schedule. 

"The anticipation for the 2023 season was filled with excitement, but also a weight of nervous anxiety to see if we could replicate our success," said Thompson. "The difference heading into this season is our culture and the people we have returning along with the nine newcomers who look to make an immediate impact."

On the women's side, the Warhawks open the 2024 campaign at the University of Montevallo Falcon Twilight Classic on Friday, Sept. 6. AUM is back in action the very next Friday, Sept. 13, as both the men's and owmen's programs take on the Southern Showcase, hosted by Jacksonville State University, at John Hunt Park in Hunstville, Alabama.

The teams then travel to the Bluegrass State on Saturday, Oct. 5 as they visit the University of Louisville for the Louisville Classic. The squads the bounce back on Friday, Oct. 11 when they visit Tallahassee, Florida for the Florida State University Invitational. 

After both the men's and women's teams took home fifth place finishes at the 2023 Gulf South Conference championships, the teams storm Valdosta, Ga. for this year's championships on Saturday, Oct. 26. 

The Warhawks take on the NCAA south region two weeks later, on Saturday, Nov. 9, for the 2024 NCAA South Region championships at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama. The Warhawk men earned the program's highest team placement of the Ryan Thopmpson-era at last year's championships, while the women also matched their best effort in school history as a team with an 11th-place finish.

"The growth both squads have shown over the last few years has elevated the standard of our program and now we look to take that next step," Thompson said. "I am eager to get the squads on campus and get started."
