RV Warhawks Play to Second Draw in GSC Play

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks men's soccer team (4-1-3, GSC: 1-0-2) played to a 2-2 draw with the University of West Alabama Tigers (3-2-3, 3-0-1 GSC) on Friday night in Gulf South Conference action at the Jerry F. Smith Track & Field Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
It was West Alabama that first cracked the scoreboard, as the Tigers' tally in the 16th minute pushed the home team to a 1-0 advantage.

AUM responded, as Noah Fernandes turned in his second assist of the season in the 35th minute to pull the match even 1-1 for AUM.

Fernandes sent a pass to Sean O'Donnell, whose right-footed chance found the back of the net to tie things up.

The score remained tied 1-1 at the halftime intermission as AUM outshot UWA 8-2 in the first half.

Second Half
Less than 10 minutes into the second half, Alan De Paula converted the go-ahead goal for the orange and black.

De Paula's tally, his second of the season, pushed the visitors ahead 2-1 in the 53rd minute.

Both sides battled over the next 25 minutes until the home team turned in the final tally of the match.

UWA's David Nunez tied the match 2-2 with his goal in the 78th minute as the Tigers held on in the closing minutes to remain unbeaten in conference play.
