TAMPA, Fla. – The AUM men's soccer team concluded its Central Florida road trip Saturday with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the University of Tampa Spartans at Pepin Stadium.
The 21st-ranked Warhawks fall to 1-1-0 on the season, while Tampa improves to 2-0-0.
Viggo Svedin scored two goals for the Spartans, with the first coming in the 28th minute off an assist from Loic Kanku and the second coming in the 66th minute off an assist from Dante Searis to push Tampa ahead 2-0.
Benjamin Hoffman helped AUM avoid a shutout with a goal in the 83rd minute that found the top center of the net off an assist by
Noah Fernandes to move the score to the 2-1 final.
Hoffman led the attack with four shots and two shots on goal. Fernandes posted a pair of shots in the loss.
Viktor Rosenkrantz collected three saves.
As a team, the Warhawks finished with nine shots and three SOGs, but Tampa shot 10 times with five SOGs.
