Olivia Watkins Earns GSC Player of the Week Title

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Junior outfielder Olivia Watkins of the Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks softball team has been named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league's office on Tuesday morning.

WATKINS DELIVERS
In last week's series win over No. 15 West Florida, Watkins was a catalyst at the plate for the Warhawks, delivering a team-best .500 batting average with four hits on eight at-bats. She scored three runs, drew three walks, and posted a stellar .667 on-base percentage while tallying five total bases. Watkins added an RBI and a double in game two and showed impressive discipline at the plate, striking out just once all weekend.
 
WATKINS' SEASON SURGE
So far this season, Watkins has been a steady force for the Warhawks, starting 28 games while batting .357 at the plate. In 84 at-bats, she has totaled 30 hits, 16 runs scored, and 49 total bases, good for a .426 on-base percentage. Watkins has also showcased her power with eight doubles, one triple, and three home runs, emerging as a consistent offensive threat for the orange and black. She has amassed nine multi-hit games, including her 4-for-4 performance in game two against the Argos, which marks her season-best.

Watkins and the Warhawks are back in action on Friday, April 3 for a road test with the Valdosta State Blazers. First pitch of Friday's single game is set for 5 p.m.
