COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Auburn University at Montgomery women's golf team closed its last regular spring tournament at the Lady Cougar Classic. The event was hosted by Columbus State University at the Green Island Country Club in Columbus, Georgia.

No. 25 West Florida and No. 27 Carson-Newman finished the tournament as co-champions, each posting a score of 913 (+49). Carson-Newman's Madison Miller and West Florida's Millie Thompson also shared the individual title after simultaneously finishing with a 224 (+8).

As a team, the Warhawks rounded out the tournament with a two-round total of 689 (+113). AUM's third-round team score was not counted due to a player injury.

RESULTS

• Ashley Nelson closed with a 72 (E) in the final round and finished tied for 27th with a three-round total of 239 (+23) with five birdies.
• Aubrie Medford recorded an 80 (+8) in the third round which placed her in 46th with a three-round total of 248 (+32), tallying five birdies throughout the tournament.
• Hailey Westmoreland had round three score of 87 (+15), which put her tied for 63th after a three-round total of 266 (+50), posting one birdie across the tournament.
• Kyleigh Gibson was forced to withdraw due to injury during the third round after recording a 175 (+31) through the first two rounds.

UP NEXT
The Warhawks will travel to Dickson, Tennessee to participate in the Gulf South Conference Golf Championship, which will begin on Sunday, April 19th.
