MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The No. 8 Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks softball team (40-9, GSC: 23-9) reached the 40-win milestone on Friday afternoon, splitting a Gulf South Conference doubleheader against the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans (19-17, GSC: 14-17). AUM opened the series with a 12-5 victory before falling in a narrow 6-5 walk-off loss in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One: AUM 12, TNU 5
AUM struck first in the second inning when
Ansley Watson and
Kennedy Sevcik opened the frame with back-to-back singles before
Jasmine Sneed's sacrifice bunt and an opponent throwing error allowed Watson to score and Sevcik to move to third. After Sneed swiped second,
Gabbi Barnowsky delivered a two-RBI single to center field to give the Warhawks a 3-0 lead.
Reese Cauley followed with a dominant inning in the circle, retiring the side in order with two strikeouts.
The Warhawks added to their lead in the third after
Olivia Watkins singled and Cauley doubled to put two in scoring position.
Karris Rhine's fielder's choice brought Watkins home to make it 4-0.
Trevecca answered with an RBI double in the bottom half, but AUM continued to apply pressure. Both teams traded runs in the fourth, highlighted by another Barnowsky RBI single and a Trojan solo home run.
AUM broke the game open in the fifth, plating four runs on four hits. Watkins led off with a home run to center, while Watson doubled and later scored on an error. Sneed added an RBI double and came around on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 9-2.
After a two-run homer by Trevecca in the fifth, the Warhawks responded again in the sixth. Watkins collected her third hit of the game before Cauley launched a two-run home run to left, pushing the advantage to 11-4.
AUM added an insurance run in the seventh behind consecutive singles from
Chloe Baynes, Barnowsky, and
Rebecca Komers.
Trevecca scratched across one run in the bottom half, but the Warhawks secured the 12-5 win.

Game One Notables
- Reese Cauley improved to 25-2, tossing 6.0 innings with seven strikeouts and two walks while adding two hits, two RBI, and her sixth home run of the season.
- Gabbi Barnowsky led the offense with four hits in five at-bats, driving in three runs and stealing a base.
- Olivia Watkins went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, an RBI, and her fifth home run of the year.
- Ansley Watson recorded two hits, scored twice, and notched her first double of the season.
- AUM totaled 18 hits, including three doubles and two home runs, out-hitting Trevecca 18-12.

Game Two: AUM 5, TNU 6
Baynes set the tone early with a leadoff double to left-center and later came around to score on
Rebecca Komers' at-bat, giving AUM a 1-0 lead.
Trevecca responded in the fourth inning, capitalizing on two hits and an AUM error to take a 2-1 advantage.
After two scoreless frames, the Warhawks delivered in the clutch in the seventh. AUM erupted for four runs on four hits and an error, flipping a late deficit into a 5-2 lead heading into the final half inning.
The Trojans answered with a dramatic finish, loading the bases before launching a walk-off grand slam to secure the 6-5 victory.

- Sydni Free turned in a strong start, throwing 5.1 innings with five strikeouts and no walks while allowing just one earned run on seven hits.
- Chloe Baynes went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, including her third double of the season.
- Kennedy Sevcik added two hits in three at-bats.
