SAINT LEO, Fla. – The four seed No. 10 Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks softball team (43-13, GSC: 24-9) closed out its 2026 season with an 8-0 six-inning loss to the five seed Tampa Spartans (36-13, SSC: 21-9) on Friday evening in the NCAA South Regionals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After two scoreless innings, the Spartans opened the scoring, plating four runs on seven hits in the third. Tampa followed with a two-run fourth frame which was made possible by three hits.
The Spartans closed things out with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure an 8-0 six-inning victory.
NOTABLES
- Kennedy Sevcik finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, wrapping up an impressive post season for the sophomore.
- Chloe Baynes finished her senior campaign with two hits on three attempts.
