BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference announced its 2025-26 Spring All-Academic Awards, highlighted by six Warhawks who earned GSC All-Academic Team honors, while 68 Warhawks were named to the league's Spring Honor Roll.

Programs recognized in the Spring include baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis, and women's golf. To achieve honor roll status, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.00 or better and have competed in outside competition at the time the award was announced.

To earn a spot on the GSC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher throughout their academic career at the institution and may not be freshmen or first-term transfers. Nominees must also be significant contributors to their team, with additional consideration given to leadership, community service, and involvement in extracurricular activities.
ASHLEY NELSON | WOMEN'S GOLF | GSC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Nelson, of the Warhawks women's golf team, has excelled both on the course and in the classroom during her junior season. A Kinesiology major with a perfect 4.00 GPA, she played a key role in the inaugural season of AUM women's golf, recording four top-10 finishes, including three top-five performances. Her best outing came at the SSU Tiger Invitational, where she earned a second-place finish individually. Nelson's success in competition and commitment to academic excellence make her a deserving recipient of this recognition.

CHLOE BAYNES | SOFTBALL | GSC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Baynes, of the Warhawks softball team, has excelled both on the field and in the classroom during her senior season. A Communications Disorders major with a 3.83 GPA, she earned multiple All-America and All-Region honors while being named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year and earned an impressive GSC Top 10 status. She started all 56 games in center field, hitting .450 with a GSC-leading 85 hits and 48 stolen bases, while ranking among conference leaders in on-base percentage (.516), runs scored (56), triples (5), and walks (26).

One of the most decorated players in program history, Baynes became the first in AUM history to reach 300 career hits and finished her career as the Gulf South Conference all-time hits leader while also setting program records for hits and stolen bases.
REESE CAULEY | SOFTBALL | GSC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Cauley, of the Warhawks softball team, has excelled both in the circle and in the classroom during her sophomore season. A Pre-Nursing major with a 3.69 GPA, she earned multiple All-America and All-Region honors while also being named the Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Year. She established herself as one of Division II softball's premier pitchers, posting a 28-4 record with a 1.69 ERA over 207 innings while striking out 171 batters and holding opponents to a .190 average.

A workhorse for the Warhawks, Cauley made 32 starts and surpassed the 200-inning mark while playing a key role in both regular-season and postseason success. She also contributed offensively, batting .257 with six home runs and 23 RBI while providing consistent production as both a pitcher and designated player.
REBECCA KOMERS | SOFTBALL | GSC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Komers, of the Warhawks softball team, has excelled both on the field and in the classroom during her senior season. A Criminal Justice major with a perfect 4.00 GPA, she earned All-South Region honors while serving as one of the Gulf South Conference's most reliable two-way players. She started all 56 games at shortstop and hit .353 with 60 hits, 13 doubles, five home runs, and 44 RBI.

Her 44 RBI ranked sixth in the conference, while her five sacrifice flies tied for second in the league. Komers also scored 38 runs, stole 21 bases, and posted a .541 slugging percentage with a .945 OPS. Defensively, she anchored the middle infield with 127 assists and a .961 fielding percentage, earning a spot on the GSC Golden Glove Team.
GIUSEPPE BONAIUTI | MEN'S TENNIS | GSC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Bonaiuti, of the Warhawks men's tennis team, has excelled both on the court and in the classroom during his senior season. A Marketing major with a 3.66 GPA, he earned Second Team All-Gulf South Conference honors while also earning GSC Top 10 status, recognizing him as one of the league's top performers in singles play. He was a consistent force for the Warhawks throughout the season, competing at a high level against top conference competition.

In addition to his athletic success, Bonaiuti earned CSC Academic All-District honors and was named both AUM Male Student-Athlete of the Year and AUM Male Athlete of the Year, highlighting his impact as one of the program's premier student-athletes and a standout representative of Warhawks athletics.
MELISSA YAKUP POUR | WOMEN'S TENNIS | GSC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Yakup Pour, of the Warhawks women's tennis team, has excelled both on the court and in the classroom during her senior season. A Finance major with a 3.70 GPA, she earned ITA Singles All-America honors after finishing No. 14 in the final ITA National Singles Rankings, reaching as high as No. 9 during the season. She also earned First Team All-Gulf South Conference honors while competing primarily at the No. 1 singles position against the nation's top competition.

Yakup Pour posted key victories throughout the season, including a win over then-No. 5 Emily Buchanan of Mississippi College, and collected multiple wins over ranked opponents in both singles and doubles play. In doubles, she and partner
Nagisa Yonezawa reached a No. 22 national ranking while securing wins over several nationally ranked teams. She also earned CSC Academic All-District honors and a spot on the Spring Provost's Honor Roll, highlighting her success as a complete student-athlete.
