DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The No. 9 Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks men's soccer team (3-1-0) suffered its first loss of the season Sunday, falling 3-1 to No. 7 North Georgia (4-0-1) at the UNG Soccer Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
North Georgia opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Isaac Calderon converted a penalty kick to give the Nighthawks a 1-0 lead.

The Nighthawks doubled their advantage in the 29th minute when Aram Lara found the back of the net off an assist from Valen Bargagna, sending North Georgia into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

Second Half
AUM responded in the second half as
Benjamin Hoffmann cut the deficit in half in the 73rd minute. Hoffmann collected a solid ball from
Harrington Arnette and fired a bar-down shot past the North Georgia goalkeeper to make it a 2-1 match.

The Warhawks continued to push for the equalizer, but North Georgia added an insurance goal in the 80th minute when Samuel Gomez scored unassisted.

AUM was unable to find another answer as the Nighthawks held on for the 3-1 victory.

- Hoffmann led the Warhawks with four shots and scored AUM's lone goal.
