CAREER ACCOLADES & RECORDS:

• Owns the third-fastest 10K time in school history (32:32.7 - 2023 NCAA South Region Championships)
• Owns the second-fastest 5K time in school history (15:49.90 - 2023 Foothills Invitational)
• 2023 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team selection

2023: Helped lead AUM to a fifth-place team finish at the GSC Championships…part of a squad that made six appearances in USTFCCCA’s weekly South Region rankings and finished the year ranked No. 8 in the region…also helped lead AUM to its highest-ever finish at the NCAA South Region Championships (8th)…ran in all six races…turned in his collegiate-best 8K at the Southern Showcase with a 25:40.0…ran three other 8K times under 26:40 for the Warhawks.

PREP: Ran cross country for four seasons under head coach Richard Shortt at Cedartown High School...was a region champion in 2022 and was also named a scholar-athlete...put together a pair of Top 10 finishes at the state cross country championships in 2021 and 2022...also ran track and was a participant in the state meet in his junior and senior seasons, where he placed seventh in the 3200m both years.

PERSONAL: Son of Buddy and Beverly Benefield...has one brother, William...majoring in Kinesiology.
