Auburn University at Montgomery Athletics

2023: Helped lead AUM to a fifth-place team finish at the GSC Championships…part of a squad that made six appearances in USTFCCCA’s weekly South Region rankings and finished the year ranked No. 8 in the region…raced four times on the season for the Warhawks…ran a 16:50.1 5K, his career-best, at the Foothills Invitational…finished a pair of 8K races both under the 28-minute threshold for AUM.

2022: Raced to a 27:21.2, his career-best time, at the 2022 University of North Alabama Invitational...named to the GSC Fall Academic Honor Roll...raced in four total meets for AUM...also posted a 27:45.9 at the University of Alabama in Huntsville Division II Festival Year Showcase. 

2021: Was named to the Gulf South Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll…competed in one event, posting an 8K time of 29:25.40 to finish 32nd at the Falcon Classic on Sept. 17.

2020: Was named to the 2020 GSC Fall Academic Honor Roll...competed in three meets for AUM…opened up the season with an 8K time of 28:00.60 at the UAH Chargers Open on Sept. 19 … finished a season-high 37th at the Coach Gary Wilson Invitational on Oct. 10…posted an AUM-best time of 27:57.90 at the GSC Championship on Oct. 31.

2019: Ran a 28:53.2 to finish 92nd at the Montevallo Falcon Classic 8K as a freshman...also posted a 30:08.0 at the Mountain Dew Gator Cross Country Invitational 8K (9/14/19).

PREP: Attended Alabama Christian Academy in Montgomery, running for coaches Lacey Phillips and Michael Britton in both cross country and track....was named to the All-Metro cross country team for the Eagles, and earned four letters in both cross country and track.

PERSONAL: The son of James Hughes and Robin Burkett...has one older sister, Lauren Hughes.
