Joe White comes to AUM from Signaw Valley State University in Signaw, Mich., where he served as Head Goalkeeping Coach for both the men’s and women’s teams in 2018. Under White’s guidance, the men’s and women’s teams both reached the NCAA Postseason Tournament, with the men’s team advancing to the Sweet 16, while also capturing the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season conference title.
The men’s squad posted a GLIAC-best 0.83 goals against average with seven shutouts, while the women’s team posted a 0.81 GAA with 10 shutouts under White’s tutelage. Men’s keeper Lucas Betz earned GLIAC Freshman of the Year honors, while women’s GK Alyssa Watts earned All-Tournament recognition at the 2018 GLIAC Tournament.
White also worked as a volunteer coach at Hastings High School in from 2017-18, while serving as the head coach for the Hastings Flames U12 and U14 soccer clubs.
White enjoyed a decorated two-year career as goalkeeper for the Broncos of Hastings College in Hasting, Neb., where he served as a pivotal piece on the 2016 NAIA National Championship team. White was named GPAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017, an NAIA All-American in 2016 and 2017, and was named MVP of the National Championship game in 2016.
White also played for two seasons at Warner Pacific College in Portland, Ore. Where he compiled a record of 14-13-3 with five shutouts for the Knights.
The London, England native holds an NSCAA Goalkeeping Level One Coaching Certificate, and an NSCAA F Coaching License. White also holds a Football Association Level One Coaching Badge in the United Kingdom.
White earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration from Hastings College, and will be pursuing a Masters of Business Administration while at AUM.
