2014 [Junior]: Was a member of the All-Southern States Athletic Conference Second Team … earned SSAC All-Academic team honors … was selected as SSAC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 10, after scoring three goals on six shots and helping with a 10-0 shutout against Brewton-Parker (Ga.) … started all 19 matches for the Warhawks … accounted for four goals on the season.
2013 [Sophomore]: Was a member of the All-Southern States Athletic Conference Second Team … earned SSAC All-Academic team honors … was the Warhawks’ Musco Lighting Champion of Character selection … was one of four AUM players to start all 19 games … played a team-best 1,532 minutes during the season, an average of 80.6 per contest … assisted on one goal from her defender position … attempted seven shots on the year, including one on goal … collected lone point of the season against Faulkner on Sept. 19 … attempted a season-high two shots against the Eagles … blocked a shot against Belhaven on Nov. 2 … was selected a recipient of the AUM Army ROTC Achievement award.
2012 [Freshman]: Provided a steady presence on the defensive end for the Warhawks in her debut season … played in all 19 games, with starts in 18 contests … contributed to a defense which earned eight clean sheets and allowed just 17 goals all season … picked up her first career point on the offensive end against Faulkner on Oct. 27, assisting on Eyrun Rakel Agnarsdottir’s first-half game-winner … added a block in that game … had shots against SCAD-Savannah (Sept. 2) and Lee (Oct. 11).
Prep: Graduated from Norwegian College of Elite Sports in 2012 … participated in soccer for head coach Age Steen, where she was a team captain as a senior … helped the team to the Regions Indoor soccer tournament championship … also guided the squad to a pair of first-place finishes in the Norwegian League 2, a first-place finish at the G16 and G13 Indoor tournament, and two third-place finishes at the G19 Norwegian Championships … participated in club soccer, where she played for Ullensaker/Kisa IL from 2004-07, Borgen IL from 2007-10 and Kongsvinger IL from 2010-12.
Personal: Full name is Ida Smedheim Bjerklund … is the daughter of Inge Bjerklund and Trude Smedheim … has an older sister, Marte, a younger sister, Hedda, and a younger brother, Herman … is majoring in psychology … her father, Inge, was a member of the Norwegian Youth National Soccer Team and the Lillestrom SK from 1984-86.
