Auburn University at Montgomery Athletics announced the hiring of Riby Stephens on July 29, 2024 as the department's new Marketing and Fan Engagement Coordinator.
"I am excited to welcome Riby to the AUM Athletics family," Assistant Director of Athletics for External Relations Tim Lutz said. "Riby has demonstrated a great passion for marketing, promoting, and enhancing the game-day experience in her previous stops, and we are looking forward to her elevating our game-day experience for everyone that visits our campus."
Stephens brings with her a wealth of experience, most recently at a fellow Gulf South Conference institution, the University of West Florida.
"I look forward to working with the Auburn University at Montgomery athletic department," said Stephens. " I have enjoyed the time I have spent in the GSC and I am excited to join the Warhawk family and get to work!"
Stephens joins the Warhawk family after serving as the University of West Florida's athletics marketing graduate assistant. While with the Argonauts, Stephens developed marketing plans and promotional plans for 15 NCAA varsity sports. She also helped develop ticketing campaigns, in collaboration with the ticketing department, to increase attendance in eight different NCAA varsity-ticketed sports.
Additionally, Stephens managed and maintained the monthly marketing budget to purchase promotional items, supervised marketing student workers and interns in gameday positions, and conducted and led all on-field promotions and media timeout obligations.
Stephens has held numerous leadership positions including serving as the marketing supervisor for NCAA Division II football First Round and Quarterfinal games. She was also the marketing supervisor for NCAA Division II men's and women's soccer tournaments and an NCAA Division II baseball south region tournament. She also served on the ticketing team for the NAIA Lacross Invitational.
The Sunshine State native aided the UWF marketing team in eight National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) awards, which included three gold awards, one silver award, and four bronze awards.
Stephens owns a bachelor's degree in business administration, with a master's degree in physical education and sports performance.Â
