MONTGOMERY, Ala. ----- The Auburn-Montgomery women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought contest against #16 NCAA Division II University of West Florida 2-0 on Friday night.

• AUM fell to 6-6-1, while the Argonauts improved to 10-3. Â
• This was AUM's second match against a ranked opponent in as many weeks.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Bronte Cintrone registered a shot on goal.

Morgan Glenn had five saves for the Orange and Black.

Mandeville Wakefield played stellar defense all game, keeping West Florida off the scoreboard for a majority of the game.

Allison Singleterry tallied one shot.
• Kaley Ward had two shots on goal for the Argonauts with one hitting the back of the net. Isabella Garcia-Salas recorded a goal off the bench in the second half for West Florida.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• In the 18', Cintrone saw an opportunity saved by the Argonauts goalkeeper.
• Anchored by the Wakefield and the rest of the defense, both teams battled back and forth for the remainder first half, playing to a 0-0 score line at half.
• In the 59
th minute, West Florida gained the lead when Ward notched her lone goal for the match when she was on the receiving end of a cross across the box from Sara Helgadottir.
• At the tail end of the match, the Argonauts found the insurance goal they were looking for when Garcia-Salas beat the keeper far post from about ten yards out.
• After 90 hard-played minutes, the Warhawks fell to the Argonauts 2-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM finished the match with two shots, and put one on frame while West Florida finished with 15 shots and put seven on frame.
• The Warhawks trailed the Argonauts in corner kicks 14-1. Â
• Auburn Montgomery led West Florida in saves with a final count of 5-1.
