Desmond DeRamus hit the go-ahead basket with eight second remaining to cap an 18-point evening and helped the Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team to a 69-68 road victory at Albany State Monday.

• The Warhawks improved to 2-9 with the victory.
• The Golden Rams fell to 4-5 overall.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• DeRamus finished with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while adding an assist and a steal in 40 minutes.

Julius McCoy came off the bench to score 11 points and dish out three assists.

Darrion Taylor recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Marcus Jackson scored a career-high 10 points, while grabbing four rebounds.

Devonte Carter had four points, four rebounds and two blocked shots.

Kameron Hornbuckle finished with four points, seven rebounds and a blocked shot.
• Devontay Ward led the Golden Rams with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The two squads went back-and-forth in the opening seven minutes of the contest, with neither team building more than a two point lead until a DeRamus layup gave AUM an 11-7 lead with 12:24 left in the half.
• The Golden Rams took a 22-19 lead following a trey by Ward with 3:39 remaining, but the Warhawks answered with a 7-0 run and took a four-point lead, 26-22, on a 3-pointer by McCoy with 1:55 left in the period.
• A bucket by Lorenze Cloud with 1:24 left in the half was the lone basket down the stretch, sending the Warhawks to the half with a 26-24 advantage.
• Albany State scored the first four points of the second half and took a game-high lead of six points, 45-39, on a Hughes layup with 13:21 left to play.
• Trailing by five points, DeRamus and McCoy hit 3-pointers on consecutive possessions, allowing the Warhawks to regain the lead, 52-51, with 8:50 remaining.
• Down the stretch, the Warhawks trailed by as many as five, but were down by only one, 66-65, with 57 seconds remaining. DeRamus swung the advantage to AUM with a pair of free throws with 48 seconds left, but Ward put ASU back on top with a basket with 29 seconds remaining.
• With eight seconds remaining, DeRamus drove into the lane for the game-winning layup. Hudson turned the ball over with three seconds left to seal the victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The Warhawks hit 25-of-64 shots from the floor, good for 39.1 percent. AUM hit 26.1 percent from behind the arc and 13-of-18 from the charity stripe.
• Albany State converted 39.4 percent of its shots, despite hitting just 2-of-14 from behind the arc. The Golden Rams made 10-of-15 free throws.
• The Warhawks committed 13 turnovers, leading to 12 ASU points. The Golden Rams committed 16 miscues, which AUM turned into 13 points.
• ASU held a 48-42 advantage on the boards, including a 17-13 edge on the offensive glass. The Warhawks held a 12-10 lead in second-chance points.
• AUM's bench outscored Albany State's reserves 23-10.
• For the seventh time this season, the Warhawks held a halftime lead.
