CLEVELAND, Miss. ----- The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer team fell 2-1 against Delta State Friday afternoon on a late goal in the 80
th minute.
NOTES
• The Warhawks fell to 2-2-1 on the season, while Delta State improved to 4-1.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Freshmen
Ruby Mendez and
Allison Singleterry led the Warhawks in shots with Mendez tallying seven shots and being on frame with two. Singleterry recorded five shots with three being on target.
• Sophomore
Bronte Cintrone recorded two shots, with one being on frame.
• China recorded two shots with one going in for Auburn Montgomery's lone goal of the match.
• Senior
Mandeville Wakefield and sopohomore
Agnes Edlund each recorded a shot for AUM.
• Anouke Baas recorded three shots on goal for the Statesmen with one hitting the back of the net, and Rebecca Deegan scored a goal on her lone shot of the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Delta State struck early in the match when Baas scored in the sixth minute.
• In the 30
th minute, the Warhawks struck back when China equalized the score at one per side.
• After about 48 minutes of neither team breaking the stalemate, the Statesmen took the lead in the 79' when Deegan put in a penalty kick.
• Auburn Montgomery managed four shots in the final 10 minutes of the match. In the 90', Cintrone missed her only shot of the match wide and marked the Warhawks final opportunity of the match. Delta State took the victory 2-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM outshot Delta State 21-7 on the match, including a 15-shot brigade in the second half.
• The Warhawks tallied three saves while the Statesmen saved six shots.
• Auburn Montgomery recorded six corner kicks in the second half, seven overall, with Delta State earning four for the match.
• Delta State goalkeeping kept the team in the match, recording five of their six saves in the second half alone.
