MONTGOMERY, Ala. ----- The Auburn Montgomery men's soccer team fell to the University of West Alabama 3-1 Saturday afternoon with sophomore
Nick Davis scoring his first goal of the season.
NOTES
• AUM fell to 2-7, while West Alabama improved to 4-3.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Davis scored his first goal of the 2016 season, and has already acquired an assist during the year for a total of three points.
• Junior
Christian Young was the only other Warhawk to put a shot on frame.
• Sophomore
William York assisted on the goal from Davis, and finished the game with two shots.
• Jean Meyniel, Liam Ireland and Oreva Amata each scored a goal for West Alabama.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• West Alabama struck first just 11 minutes before the half on a cross from Carroll that found Meyniel for a 1-0 lead in favor of the Tigers.
• AUM responded just three minutes later on a long clearance from York that found the feet of Davis, as he made struck the ball into the lower left corner for his first goal of the season.
• At the half, the score remained tied 1-1, and Ingram had acquired five saves in the first half, while AUM finished with one shot on goal.
• Two minutes after the break, West Alabama took the lead on a corner kick. The cross from Phillips bounced through the penalty area and found Ireland waiting at the back post to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead.
• West Alabama scored its final goal of the match in the 74
th minute on a long cross from Roberts to Amata, who made a move around the keeper and scored in the lower left corner of the goal. The Tigers held AUM to one shot on frame in the second half to take the victory 3-1.

• West Alabama finished the game with 18 total shots, and put 10 on frame. The Tigers attempted 10 shots in the first half.
