MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer team will finish out its three-game road tilt on Wednesday evening, traveling to Georgia to take on Gulf South Conference foe Valdosta State in a match set to begin at 6 p.m.

About the Warhawks
AUM comes into the contest against VSU with an overall record of 4-6, with a 3-4 mark in the GSC. The Warhawks are coming off of a pair setbacks to GSC foes Christian Brothers and Union this past weekend. The Buccaneers earned a 5-0 victory over AUM before the Bulldogs upended the Warhawks 2-0.
 
The Warhawks earned a 1-0 victory over the Blazers last season, with sophomore forward Ruby Mendez lodging the game-winner for AUM.
 
Mendez is currently fifth in the GSC in points with 17 and sixth in goals with seven. Stine Svaerke is second on the team in goals with three and Allison Singleterry is third with two.
 
AUM had won three in a row before the two setbacks in Tennessee.
 
About the Blazers
VSU is currently 8-3-1 on the season with a 6-2-1 mark in league play. The Blazers are on a four-match streak without a loss, outscoring opponents 12-2 in three wins and a tie. Most recently VSU defeated GSC foe Shorter 3-0 on the campus of the Hawks.
 
The game with the Warhawks begins a three-game homestand for the Blazers.
 
The Blazers' Riley Tennant was named the GSC Player of the Week for her efforts this past week, while Alyssa Curtis was named Goalkeeper of the Week in VSU's two victories.
 
Taylor Snell and Ashley Lewis lead the team in goals with eight apiece, while Snell leads the team in points with 18. Mallory McDaniel leads the team in assists with six.
 
Up Next
The Warhawks will host Lee University on Friday, Oct. 13, for their next contest, a doubleheader with the two men's programs. Game time is set for 5 p.m. at the AUM Soccer Complex.
