MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer team will travel west to Mississippi this weekend, taking on Delta State University on Friday at 1 p.m., before taking on #20 Mississippi College on Sunday also at 1 p.m. in Gulf South Conference play.

About the Warhawks
AUM enters the weekend with an overall record of 5-8, and a 4-6 mark in GSC play. The Warhawks are coming off of a 3-0 victory over league opponent Shorter this past Sunday afternoon. The victory snapped a four-game losing skid for AUM, who have now won three out of its last four home matches.
Sophomore forward
Ruby Mendez leads the team and is tied for second in the league in points with 21. She also leads the team and is tied for second in the GSC in goals with nine. Freshman
Stine Svaerke is second on the team in points (seven) and goals (three).
AUM and DSU played last season with the Lady Statesmen pulling out a 2-1 victory. The score was tied 1-1 in the 79
th minute when Delta State was awarded a penalty kick which was converted by DSU's Rebecca Deegan. Then freshman
Chelsie China recorded her first career goal in the contest.
This will be the first contest between AUM and Mississippi College.
About the Lady Statesmen
Delta State is currently 5-10 on the year with a league record of 3-8. The Lady Statesmen have won two in a row, with a 3-1 victory over GSC foe Spring Hill last Friday and a 4-0 victory over NCAA Division III Milsaps College on Wednesday.
Freshman Jasmine McGill leads the team in goals with six on the season, including two game-winners. McGill has amassed 13 points on the season off of 33 shots (18 on goal). Lakyn Cryder is second on the team in goals with three with a team-high three assists.
Opponents have outshot DSU 263-134 on the year, having been outscored 45-20 over 15 games. Delta goalkeepers have tallied 88 saves on the year.
About the Choctaws
Mississippi College enters the contest ranked 20
th in the NCAA II Coaches Poll, and are currently second in the South Region with a record of 10-2-1 and a 9-2 mark in the league. The Choctaws are coming off of a 4-0 victory over Spring Hill College this past Sunday.
Junior forward Lauren Smith leads the team in goals with five and points with 14. She has amassed four assists on the season, with a team-best 30 shots. Emma Claire Furman in second in the team in goals with four.
The Choctaws have been ranked as high as No. 17 in the country this season, and are currently tied for second in the GSC Standings.
Up Next
The Warhawks will host league rival Montevallo on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the AUM Soccer Complex. This will be the first meeting between the two schools since the 2012 season, a 1-1 tie on the campus of the Falcons.
