MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team begins 2017-18 season this weekend in the GSC/SIAC Challenge, hosted by the University of Montevallo. The Warhawks play Tuskegee on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1:30 p.m., followed by Miles on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 1:30 p.m.

About the Golden Tigers
Tuskegee heads into the challenge following a 67-52 exhibition win over LaGrange College on Friday, Nov. 3, and are coming off a 10-16 season that ended in the opening round of the SIAC Tournament. The Golden Tigers return their second leading scorer in sophomore Miller Taylor, who averaged 9.3 points last season, while Teja Finley pulled down a team-best 64 offensive boards to propel Tuskegee to the 27
th best average in Division II with 15.0. The Golden Tigers were picked to finish sixth in the SIAC West Division by the league's coaches.
About the Golden Bears
Miles returns to the hardwood after a 14-13 campaign last season, falling in the opening round of the SIAC tournament. The Golden Bears were one of the top teams at getting to the free throw line in the country last season, taking the 11
th-most attempts in Division II with 739. All-SIAC Preseason Team honoree Ashley McCrear is the top returner for Miles, who is predicted to finish fourth in the SIAC West Division by the league's coaches.
