MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team will host region rival Tuskegee University on Tuesday evening at the AUM Gymnasium, as part of a doubleheader that includes a matchup between the two school's women's teams beginning at 6 p.m.

About the Warhawks
AUM is currently 1-2 on the young season and are coming off of an 80-72 victory over #24 Kentucky Wesleyan this past Saturday. The victory for the Warhawks snapped a 48-game home winning streak for the Panthers, who defeated AUM last season, 77-74, at the Owensboro Sportscenter.
Senior forward
Lafayette James-Core scored a career-high 28 points for the Warhawks against KWC, going 11-18 from the floor, including 4-4 on 3-point field goal attempts. He also recorded a season-high six rebounds along with a career-high six steals in 34 minutes of action.
Junior guard
Desmond DeRamus currently leads the team in scoring, averaging 19.7 points per game. DeRamus scored his career-high earlier this season, tallying 30 points against Benedict College on Nov. 11. DeRamus also leads the team in assists with nine and steals with seven.
The two teams met last season on the campus of the Golden Tigers, with TU coming away with a 60-49 victory. The two teams took a 20-20 tie into halftime, only to see Tuskegee outscore AUM 40-29 in the second half. DeRamus scored a game-high 14 with James-Core chipping in 12.
Last year's contest was the first meeting between the two programs since Nov. 27, 1998.
About the Golden Tigers
Tuskegee is currently 0-4 on the season, having dropped three contests to Gulf South Conference foes Lee University, West Georgia and Valdosta State. The Golden Tigers are coming off of a 75-61 setback to VSU this past Saturday, their fifth consecutive loss going back to last season.
Senior guard Travis Flagg currently leads the team in scoring, averaging 16.5 points per contest. He recorded a season-high 29 points against Johnson C. Smith on Nov. 14, in the Golden Tigers 90-87 setback to the Golden Bulls.
Junior James Eads is second on the team in scoring averaging 14.5 ppg, with teammate Gregg Boyd coming of the bench in all four contests to average 10.5 ppg. Sophomore forward Myles Thomas leads the team in rebounding, averaging 6.3 per contest.

AUM will head to Daytona Beach, Fla., this weekend to take part in the 2017 Bahama House Shootout, hosted by Embry-Riddle University. The Warhawks will take on the Eagles of ERU on Friday evening at 7 p.m. and will either take on Wingate University or GSC rival West Alabama on Saturday afternoon, in either the championship game or consolation game of the tournament.
