DAYTONA, Fla. – The Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team will take part in the 2017 Bahama House Shootout hosted by Embry-Riddle University this Friday and Saturday, as the Warhawks will play the host Eagles on Friday evening before taking on either West Alabama or Wingate University on Saturday.

About the Warhawks
The Warhawks are coming off of a 68-66 victory over region rival Tuskegee on Tuesday evening, trailing by as much as 16 points in the second half before hitting a pair of free throws in the closing moments to earn the victory. AUM is currently 2-2 on the season, having won two games in a row.
Three Warhawks are averaging double digits points per game on the season, with
Desmond DeRamus leading the way with 17.8 points per game.
Lafayette James-Core is averaging 11.0 ppg and
Airen Brooks is posting 10.0 ppg. DeRamus also leads the team in assists with 12 on the young season.
Senior forward
Kameron Hornbuckle leads the team in rebounds with 18, averaging 4.5 per contest.
This will be the second year in a row that the Warhawks have taken part in a tournament hosted by ERU, but will be the first time that AUM will play the host Eagles. AUM fell to Francis Marion 77-75 in overtime in game one of the tournament before falling to St. Augustine's 65-56 in the consolation game on Saturday.
About the Eagles
Embry-Riddle is currently 3-2 on the season, and is coming off of a 110-80 victory over Ave Maria University on Tuesday. The game will be the second of the season for the Eagles against a Gulf South Conference opponent, having opened the season with a 92-73 victory over Mississippi College.
Five players are averaging 10 or more points per contest this season, with Rudy Bibb-Boyd leading the way with 17.6 ppg. ERU's Nashad Mackey is averaging a double-double on the season, tallying 13.8 ppg and 10.4 rpg.
About the Tigers
UWA is currently 3-2 on the season and will play Wingate in the opening game of the tournament. The Tigers are coming off of a 79-70 setback against Lane College last Saturday.
The Tigers' Charles Eaton is averaging 27.0 ppg, scoring a season-high 37 points against Faulkner on Nov. 16. Gavin Robinson leads the team in rebounds with 44, averaging 8.8 rpg.
AUM will host UWA later this season in a GSC matchup set for Jan. 27 at 4 p.m.
About the Bulldogs
Wingate is currently 2-3 on the season, having dropped its past two games. The Bulldogs are coming off of a 76-59 setback against Lander on Tuesday evening.
Two Bulldogs are averaging double-digits in points per game, with Marco Haskins leading the way with 13.0 ppg. Davarious Christian leads the team in rebounds with 35, averaging 7.0 rpg.

AUM will open up Gulf South Conference play next Thursday, as they travel to Cleveland, Tenn., to take on Lee University at the Paul Dana Walker Arena. Opening tip is set for 7 p.m. between the Warhawks and the Flames.
