MONTGOMERY, Ala. ------ The Auburn Montgomery softball team swept the University of West Alabama 13-5 in six innings in game one, and 7-2 in the nightcap for the first doubleheader sweep at home in the NCAA Era Tuesday afternoon. The Warhawks totaled 23 hits in the two games setting a season-high 15 in game one.

NOTES
• The Warhawks improved to 10-7 on the year.
• The Tigers fell to 9-10 on the season.
• Freshman Parker Pinholster broke the single season stolen base record in game one, and is currently 19-19 on the base paths, after tallying a total of five during both games.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Pinholster tied the stolen bases in a game record with three in the first game, and picked up an additional two in the second game. At the plate, she picked up two hits in each game with three runs scored in the first game, and one in the second. She also leads the team with 21 runs scored.
• Junior Kalee Sparks led the Warhawks offensively on a 2-for-3 performance in game one with two RBIs, a stolen base and a run scored. In game two, she finished 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and a run scored.
• Senior Sydney Dishman finished the first game 2-for-4 with three RBIs, two runs scored and a double. She added a 1-for-3 performance in game two also with an RBI and a run scored. She currently leads the team in RBIs with 18.
• Freshman Abby Krueger also tallied two hits in the first game, and added two runs scored and an RBI.
• Junior Christy Hendrix went 2-for-2 in one inning at the plate with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Freshman Jaycie Walker and sophomore Kaylin Finch also picked up doubles in the first game.
• Freshman Chanel Newcomer picked up her first career win in game one hurling two innings of shutout softball, and allowed only one hit, while striking out four. In game two, Taylor Tiffany picked up her fourth win on six innings pitched and didn't allow an earned run, while striking out six.
• Chelsea Lobitos led the way for West Alabama with two hits in game one. She added a double, an RBI and a run scored as well.

GAME 1 HOW IT HAPPENED
• AUM got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning after Pinholster reached on a catcher's interference call. After stealing both second and third, she crossed home on a wild pitch to give the Warhawks an early 1-0 lead.
• West Alabama responded immediately in the top of the second to tie the game at one on a single from Diekmann that plated Craft.
• AUM took back the lead in the bottom of the second on a Schmidt single up the middle that scored Persinger.
• Once again, West Alabama tied the game in the top of the third on a single to right from King that brought home McKee.
• After a scoreless fourth, West Alabama put up three runs on five hits in the top of the fifth. A Lobitos double plated Hague, and a King single scored McKee. The final run was plated on a Storey single up the middle to score Lobitos. Newcomer stranded the bases loaded after picking up two huge strikeouts to end the inning.
• Trailing 5-2, AUM scored two additional runs in the bottom of the fifth. Pinholster singled, and advanced to second for her third stolen base of the game. A Dishman single through the left side scored Pinholster, and a Sparks single through the left side plated Dishman to make the score 5-4 in favor of the Tigers.
• Newcomer didn't allow a base runner in the top of the sixth, and the AUM offense came alive in the bottom of the sixth with nine runs on nine hits. The inning featured three doubles, before an errant throw allowed Persinger to score and give the Warhawks the 13-5 victory in six innings for game one.

GAME 2 HOW IT HAPPENED
• Neither team scored in the first inning, but West Alabama got on the board first for its only two runs of the game on two hits and an error in the top of the second inning. An error allowed Smart to score, and a double steal saw King score to give the Tigers an early 2-0 lead.
• AUM would not respond until the bottom of the third for three runs on four hits. A Dishman single plated Ragland, and an interference call allowed Dishman to advance to third later in the inning. A Sparks single down the left field line plated both Dishman and Walker to give the Warhawks a 3-2 lead.
• AUM tallied its final four runs in the bottom of the fourth on two hits and three errors. A fielding error allowed Persinger to score, and a throwing error allowed Walker and Pinholster to score. Hendrix reached on another fielding error, which allowed Sparks to come home, and give the Warhawks a 7-2 lead after four.
• Each team added a hit in the fifth, but neither would have any more offensive production the final two innings of play. Newcomer came in to pitch in the top of the seventh with runners on first and second and no outs, but picked up a pop fly and two fly balls to give the Warhawks the 7-2 victory in game two, and the program's first NCAA doubleheader sweep at home.
